Resumo
As doenças crônicas apresentam se como uma problemática de saúde pública devido ao elevado número de casos diagnosticados anualmente em todo o mundo. Uma alimentação balanceada garante ao indivíduo os nutrientes essenciais a promoção da sáude e bem estar dos mesmos.Assim é importante considerar que há uma relação intrínseca entre a nutrição e o desenvolvimento de doenças crônicas, O presente estudo têm por objetivo analisar o panorama complexo e multifacetado existente entre intervenções nutricionais e melhoria da saúde em pacientes com doenças crônicas.Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática de literatura executada com 20 fontes cientificas elencadas da base de dados: PubMed (MEDLINE), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (LILACS) e Cochrane. A execução de uma dieta rica em alimentos processados e pobres nutricionalmente priva o organismo de nutrientes que exercem funções protetoras contra doenças crônicas; sendo assim é possível afirmar que o padrão alimentar está fortemente associado ao aumento da prevalência dessas patologias. O fortalecimento de ações preventivas e educativas, aliadas ao incentivo à prática de atividades físicas e à redução do consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados, são primordiais para a promoção da saúde pública e a efetiva redução do impacto das doenças crônicas no cenário global.
