Abstract

ABSTRACT

Chronic orthopedic pain is a debilitating condition affecting millions of people worldwide, significantly impacting patients’ quality of life. This literature review aims to explore multidisciplinary approaches in managing this condition, highlighting the importance of an integrated healthcare team for effective treatment. The objective of this study is to identify the most effective interventions in managing chronic orthopedic pain through a multidisciplinary approach. The methodology involved reviewing studies published in reputable databases, using specific descriptors to identify the most relevant interventions. The results show that combining pharmacological, physiotherapeutic, and psychological treatments provides better outcomes in pain control and improvement of patients’ functionality. Additionally, effective communication between doctor and patient, the humanization of healthcare practices, and individualized therapeutic plans are critical factors for successful treatment. It is concluded that a multidisciplinary approach is essential for the effective management of chronic orthopedic pain, suggesting the need for integrated protocols in clinical practice and the implementation of communication training programs for healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
